  • Quake Soundtrack - Best Tech map song?

I've just recently ripped the soundtrack from my CD into a music dir so they

can play with DirectQ (soundtrack is amazing btw) and I'm curious as to

what you guys consider the best song for a tech themed map. I'm curious

because I'm really not sure which track would fit my map.

I have been listening to them all, and I'm really only sure of 2 tracks, the

first being parallel dimensions. I like the pulsing sound it has to it, it

seems to compliment the machinery with a very dark feel. Also, I was

thinking about Hall of Souls as a good one as well, because the long buildup

gives a nice (if long) bit of suspense to the track.

But I'm leaning towards not using Parallel Dimensions just because I

feel like It's the most remembered song from Quake - is it, or is it just me?

What do you guys consider the best tracks from the original soundtrack for a base level?

That, and how many of you actually have the music on while you play Quake

I enjoy the tracks while playing. It adds alot to the experience imo. Below is a link to a site I stumbled upon about a year ago. I actually thought these tracks went great with the game too. Maybe you might like one of these.?

    Project-Aftershock
These are done after the originals. Beyond Abstract is a very cool track.

Some of those are pretty cool, but I'm not sure you understood my question (or maybe I worded it wrong - i did write quite a bit)

I reworded it to be more specific.

Sorry about that. I understood the question, but Im not able to listen to the original tracks right now to refresh my memory. I remember some of those linked tracks being more "techno" so I wanted to mention them.
