    RocketGuy has completed a new mod called RQuake Team Cooperative, you play against the monsters as a team.

    It is a cooperative vs. the monsters mod, a QuakeC modification backed up by a custom engine that allows for per player scores versus standard coop mode which does not keep track of such a thing.

    Features ...

    Numerous power ups, flashlight, a "radar" to help assist in locating other players.

    Power-ups List

    Aborption Field - Reduces damage to you by 50%.
    Assault Cannon - Constant restock of rockets, rocket launcher does increased damage.
    Assault Power - Increases your weapon's power by 100%.
    Engineer - Repair armor for others.
    Explosives Specialist - Fire bombs. Take cover. Don't worry, this won't hurt your friends, but it can hurt YOU.
    Fusion Cell Reactor - Constant recharge of cells for lightning gun.
    Human Torch - Set monsters on fire. Weapon 4 is your flame thrower.
    Impervious Shield - Activate for 10 seconds of total protection. Long recharge time.
    Medic - Heal others and yourself.
    Regenerative Suit - Your armor is self-repairing and you slowly heal.
    Singularity Mine - Deploy a strong gravitational field that causes chaos for most monsters.
    Stealth Technology - Visible to your friends, invisible and silent to your enemies (the monsters)
    Vortex Inductor - Set one off and hide. Everything it sucks in DIES!
    It is running on the server: coop.runequake.com:26003 which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    This server is running custom maps, including a intro map to help select what map you wish to play.

    Lardarse wanted me to say that he did a cool and super-hard grenade jump on his first try on that server last night when getting a tour of the server.

          Yeah, this mod is a TON of fun. The maps make it possibly BETTER than FVF. I wish there would be a version of SKINS that are CHEAT-FREE friendly.

            He's in Croatia , so he's actually farther away from the server than you are, Trinca.

            Well, you can use JoeQuake and QRack and use the .zip version and unzip to c:\quake\joequake\progs or c:\quake\qrack\progs.

            That's the only method that is ProQuake cheat-free friendly, as when you are using ProQuake, those locations are not used.

              Actually, it was a rocket jump off of an exploding grenade, and it was the second attempt. I should've remembered that the correct way to time those properly is to fire straight up, and then RJ in time to the second bounce, but the problem is that it's harder to know where the grenade will land that way. And the only reason I had to do it was because the map didn't work as expected...

                That, plus you had 150 ping. :d

                I kept my eye out for that problem the next time around and someone went thru the exit the level while I wasn't looking (there were 6 players so I have no clue who it was or whether they rocket jumped it) ... so I'm not sure if that is or isn't a problem, but it's still on my list (map = could).

                I did notice something wrong, there are 128 monsters on "ant" but in single player on skill 3 there are 119 so the custom engine needs a small logic tweak which could explain some irregularities on a handful of maps.

                  Update:

                  Added 24-bit PNG textures for supported clients (JoeQuake/QRack for sure, ProQuake = no, DarkPlaces = yes can do PNG now, right?).

                  Unzip to c:\quake\id1\textures\intro

                  This will make the screenshots on the intro map look a LOT better, since these replacement textures are not limited to the Quake palette.

                    I always use GL, or RL, or GL+RL jumps to fly through the level. Fuck getting those dumb keys, I wanna kill some monstas!!

                        There will eventually be a plug-and-deploy package with the modified Windows and Linux server binaries it requires to make life easy for whoever wants to run it.

                        The existing RQuake server has had it's capacity increased to 12 to accomodate times when the server was getting full @ 6 players in the evenings and weekend mornings, in particular.

                        There will be a news item at the site after tweaks and issues have been worked out in their entirety (some people have noticed some little issues here and there, need to add a gib filter for the larger maps, etc.)

                        But yeah, RocketGuy would love for others to run his mod on public servers. There have already been a few inquiries.

                          Well, I ordered a server some days ago... No sign of life from it yet, heh. Let's hope the best then there will be a German server soon (dunno if for this mod though).

                            The Team arrives to kick the monsters' asses on Insomnia ...

                            Here is RocketGuy owning everyone at coop, despite his 150 ping being from Croatia on an Ohio server. He's a monster slaughtering machine!



                            And some fun on a dkt1000 map...



                            And these aren't really even representative of just how fun this mod is to play. Just some miscellaneous screenshots I remembered to take in-game.

                            Some of the things you can do in this mod are laugh out loud funny.

                            But, these monsters are not nice monsters. Grunts and Enforcers are very dangerous because they shoot rockets too, Hell Knight's attacks can set you on fire and if you encounter Shub Niggurath -- it has 8000 hit points and is a killing machine. All maps run in nightmare.
