OK, I've figured it out.

With any crime, you have to look for the motive. Now who would benefit from Mittens being given the Republican nomination? Well, if you look over what he's been saying over the last few days, he's managed to turn about 85% of America against the Republicans. If you aren't rich and white, he basically doesn't give a shit, and he's quite open about stating it. So if you put all this together and see who really benefits from all this malarkey, then you are left with one suspect who gets all the beans due to this farce:
