  • Forum Sections Discussion

Maybe it's time we made a few changes to the forum sections? This is just feedback and everyone can help out in this discussion

Here's what the sections are now:

    Feedback and suggestions for quakeone.com
I don't want to split any of the sections into two since that would make complications for the admins to move all the threads. I simply moved the CTF section and added more sections. What do you think of this list?

    Code:

yeller reminds me of wile.e coyote. A mute who can only use signs (or links) to communicate.

        /holds [BYE BYE] sign
        /waves
        /falls
        *BOOM*

I'm going to interpret what he's attempting to say. Too many sections is a mess? Fine take out the Clan sections they aren't that important. This is a discussion. People can come up with their own section ideas. Eventually we should come up with something reasonable.

Solecord did say he was thinking about adding a Clan section I still think its a good idea, but obviously not every 5 minute clan can have a section, but more like the established clans, bizzaro, tu, sns etc.. should have a section, since they aren't going anywhere

If there are clan sections, think about how they would be managed. Would only the designated clan members be able to post there? Would there be different moderators?

I like how the forum is setup.

I think the new setup would be more helpful, since it would seperate problems/discussion into the different areas instead of just lumping everything into a few sections. That way, Rune Quake players can discuss runes in their own section without having to read anything about CA, CTF, ect (unless they play those as well).

The clan sections can have both benefits and problems - They certainly could be useful in keeping clans and clanmates informed on events, matches, roster, ect, as well as recruitment and potentially new, developed clans to compete against. The only downside I really see is spam, as in random posts with nothing but "(Insert clan here) sucks!" or "I can pwn these (insert clan here) noobs!"

But otherwise, that's a pretty good setup for the site.

The clan section I was proposing was not for forums, but an actual site that lets clans sign up for webspace to host a small page, and a main listing page showing all clans who signed up.

That sounds better than having a forum section
