Where is Mindgrid Audio?

Reading around it looks like this is the best sound mod to get. I can't find it, where is it?
Is there a better sound mod?

edit: ok digging in threads I found it.

BTW Is there any better sound mods?
What are the best things to install to get the full Quake experience?
So far I have Darkplaces & Mindgrid.

Uninstalling both and using Quakespasm or DirectQ with no retexture/resound/remodel anything but with the soundtrack.

Depends what you mean by "The full Quake experience"
If you want the classic feel of Quake in the modern era - then use Spirit's idea. It'd give you Quake as it was when it was released with some upgrades (compatibility for modern hardware ect)

If you define it as "wanting it to look like a more modern game" then having the 2 things you mentioned is a great start. Now go check out the "Mod Releases" forum and "Works in Progress" - and grab:
Seven's Lava
Seven's Water (others are doing other version that look great, so maybe grab those instead)
Seven's Teleporter
---honestly just check out any thread by Seven. He has done amazing things, his small mod release is Quake with some bug fixes and new features which can be enabled/disabled.
Moon[Drunk] and My-Key's QRP Retexturing Project
Nergal and Alfaders Quake Reforged Project (enemy hi-res skins)
You could also check out some of the work I did (see my signature) - did remodels of many things.

That plus probably the rtlights.

Like they say, there are two extremes. The vanilla quake with slightly updated engine (Fitzquake etc) and the kitchen sink quake.

Yes I want an updated Quake experience. I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that.

I will check out seven's and your textures.

I installed pak2.pak from Mindgrid Audio in the file Id1 and it doesn't appear to change the sound. What could I be doing wrong?

edit: OK I think I got them loaded up. Are there custom made SP quests?

I just applied a filter with "episode" to reduce the amount of maps listed as many would be a single map. This brings more quests/episodes to the first page.

WOW thats awesome, it will keep me busy for a while.

I really got it looking amazing with all you have suggested. Starting to get a FPS drop.
Is there any way to enable SLI in Darkplaces?

SLI is a option in the Nvidia control panel, just enable it.
I don't believe Darkplaces has engine features to really take advantage of SLI though (separating the workload between the cards). However just see if it's enabled and if it isn't enable it and give it a try. I do know some games do crash with SLI enabled though.

I do have SLI enabled but the gauge is showing that Darkplaces is not using it.

I tried to turn down the water resolution in seven's water mod through a console command but it doesn't seem to work. Is there anything I need to change to use console commands?

The command is "r_water_resolutionmultiplier 0.4"

Update: Looks like the water mod is not showing up but I get a massive FPS hit around water.

Be sure to use -sndspeed 44100 with the Mindgrid pak. I bet 90% of people forget that.
