Anyone feel like helping a noob with tf? - QuakeOne

Well I have quake installed and quake world so I got the tf installer, got it installed and now there doesn't seem to be a way to launch the game. the only icon I could find was a dos single player one.any ideas? I used to play this like 2 years ago and now I can't seem to figure it out...

put tf in its own folder named tf in your quake dir and run it off command. Type this in run

c:\quake\"your client" -game tf

Thanks a lot man.
I tried it and the game opened!
then I got a "W_LoadWadFile: couldn't find gfx.wad" error.
any ideas?

If i remember correctly the gfx.wad has to do with sound in the game, try downloading TF from a different source and see if that helps, you might have a problem with your pak file from the source you downloaded it from. If not, send baker or r00k a private message explaining the problem. Those two are genius' in the quake community.

It worked!! just uninstalled and dl'd one from another site and it worked first try
