Setting up a server in ezQuake.

I'm sorry, I'm a complete noob at this, and I honestly just want to play Quake with a few friends.

I've got some ports open, and I have my IP, but the problem is, I don't know how to set up a private listen server properly, and the ezQuake manual had nothing about it, just about connecting to other servers.

I didn't think this'd fall under clients, so I posted it under multiplayer. If that's wrong, again, I'm sorry.

Hi Zach,

I've never tried it with ezQuake but generally (with Win/Pro quake for example) you would just add -listen n to your command line, where n is the maximum number of players you wish to allow to connect to your server, to initiate a basic listen server. You may need to address firewall/routing issues depending upon your individual set up but from the Quake side of things that should get you going. Tp change it to a dedicated server and connect using your regular client use -dedicated n.

Hope this helps but if not then maybe post a few more details and what error messages your getting and we may be able to help

Monty
