Hi Sean,

nice sky.

Just in case you didnt know:
There is already a thread with this topic and many different skies to chose from:
click

The one from BEEF34T3R also uses the texture from Moon[Drunk] (plus jeank´s):

That one got many positive feedback.
Find a link to it in above thread.

Regards,
Seven

Great work sean. A welcome addition to my collection. I like custom skies on some of my maps!

Sean,
I get this issue with your tga file. I'm lost to what it might be. I renamed it to sky4 to use on the map in the pic

Hey Sean,

I really like those textures. I have some large maps of stars and space and have tried implementing them into sky1 and sky4.tga. My end result looks nice but i see the Squares in the texture when i look up at the sky. Its not smooth and transitional like yours comes out being. Do you know what I am doing wrong to end up with the Squares?

Thanks,

P9

Hello Planetnine,

a tutorial how to make your own moving sky textures is described in the linked thread.
As I mentioned above, that thread has the same topic and has some other variations.

What you need are seamless textures !

Just like the ones for world textures for example (or static skybox).
Textures are placed like a mosaic and MUST therefore be seamless:
Left side matches right side and upper side matches lower side.
There are existing software that can help you with it.

Best wishes,
Seven

Hello Planetnine,

I received your PM.
But I would like to answer it in the thread, so that other people can benefit from it as well.

A way to make a texture seamless:
I just started google and typed in:
"Make seamless texture"

You will get many hits and tutorials how to do it.
This one is maybe suitable for you, because you said, that you have photoshop:
click

Hope this could help a bit.

Kind regards,
Seven

Hey Seven,

This is great, thank you for helping find the tutorial. I didn't realize how common this is. I thought it was something mainly related to quake and texturing in quake. Shows you how little i know about these topics.

Thanks again,

P9
