Bam gave me an updated progs for the server with some bugfixes. The map Slidefox now works.
I've encorporated everything into one download. This .zip file now has everything you need, including the custom maps from badaim's post.

I set up a dedicated Slide server. My internet connection speed is 5Mbit down, 500Kbit up (translates into ~600KB/s and ~60KB/s). I changed sys_ticrate to .02 from default .05 improve smoothness. Bam can tell you that at the default ticrate it gets choppy when you start going really fast... at .02 it's smooth. I've created a batch file that automatically starts the server on high priority, so it gets the computer's resources before anything else. This ensures smooth gameplay on the server. I vispatched my maps, so when you connect to my server you might want to use r_wateralpha x where x is a value lower than 1 (I reccomend .5 or .4) and r_novis 1, or vispatch the map yourself.
The .zip file listed above contains two .pak files, and a maps folder. To install the mod, make a folder in your Quake folder and call it slide. Copy the files over and copy your config.cfg and autoexec.cfg (if you have one) from your ID1 folder so you don't have to configure Quake again. Then make a copy of your quake shortcut and add "-game slide" to the command line like this:

meTch showed me a server in Europe that was running a deathmatch mod he coded a while back. I liked it and asked him if he would send me the progs so I could host it on my server here in the US. I figured I would run it alongside Slide on port 26001.
-Health affects jumping ability; get over 100 health and you jump much higher than normal; get less than 15 health and you can't jump at all
-Grenades explode on impact
-Rocket Launcher now fires retarded rockets that don't go in a straight line, however, it fires much faster than the origional RL. Useful in a small room
-Modified Nailgun; nails stick to players and deatonate after a few seconds. This only works for the Nailgun, not for the Super Nailgun
-Super Shotgun is now more powerful and fires twice in rapid sucession, but there is a loading time of a few seconds. Also, there is a random chance that it will blow up and kill you
-Corpses can be gibbed
-There are sounds available that play after a player dies. They are available for download here
-The mod is completely server-side (except the sounds). However, it works without the sounds (you'll just get a lot of missing sound errors) so there are no downloads required to play.
