I emailed the guy about this asking what he'd take for a price, anyone interested?. Supposedly there are 22 left in existence.

If I remember right what I read about those, was you can do multiplayer if there were other games like that nearby in the same arcade and hooked up together, and there was suppose to be some kind of way to network to any other arcade place having the game connected the same way. I guess it never really took off because personal computers made it alot easier.

i'd love to get my hands on one of those. I saw one on eBay a couple years ago, but the seller wanted over a grand.

It is neat and all, but Quake was legendary for being a 3-D FPS game on the computer. Not a 2-D side view game in the arcade. Those things aren't worth crap in my opinion.

This wasnt a 2d sidescroller. It was Quake, after netQuake but before QuakeWorld. Packaged in an arcade form, playing DM vs bots. Yippy!
It bombed because it only had 5 maps and a trackball!!!!!!

"Quake - Arcade Tournament Edition Description
The classic PC shooting game has been adapted for tournament play in the arcade. This prototype features modified deathmatch levels and a special custom weapon. Machines may be linked to provide competitive play.
"

Quake - Arcade Tournament Edition - Videogame by ID Software/LBE Systems/Lazer-Tron

Besides the rarity of the actual product, the real jewl is the progs.dat, and yet then, its completely garbage compared to where we are today

Oh, BTW, you think they would have learned....

Wow That's Cool!

I'd love to dig through that, and discover all the differences, and added stuff. I noticed they have vwep player models too
