Play is very non-linear and it takes some time to learn the layout as this is a *big* level. Patience is rewarded with great gameplay and excellent monster placement. Well worth the download time.

--- SPQ Level Heaven Summary
I played this map and it more or less looks like and plays like a stock ID map.

However ...

What makes this map interesting is that it is maddenly challenging, while not being so hard as drifting into the realm of impossibility.

The whole map is like a series of map exploration trips. You see somewhere or discover you need something and have to look around the map in detail.

For instance, there is this one part where there are some inset areas where zombies come out, not unlike the zombie/super shotgun room in the Necropolis. I end up noticing that I see somewhere I should be able to get to but can't find the way ... well, there were some heavy shadows on those inset areas and turns out one of them was a passage --- sneaky!

I like maps with a lot of medium level challenges that require some exploration and some thinking, and this map is an exact match for those that like those kind of maps.

Although this map looks nothing like the beautiful and high tech LunSP1, this map is similar in the sense that LunSP1 was not overly difficult in the puzzles and required map exploration. Yeah, comparing these 2 maps seems strange but the game play is of the same style to me.

(Sorry for the small pic, I couldn't find a larger one and am currently low on hard drive space so I didn't want to re-download the map.)

Someday we might have image hosting, but we don't right now.

I must say, this is a great map, definitely very fun.

I enjoy the fact that it is quite non-linear, as there are just several places you can go and explore, and its a while before you find any real restrictions on your movement... the map unlocks and unfolds around you and really makes use of the fact that Quake is a 6DOF engine.

The secrets were nice, though I only found 4 of 6, I did enjoy the fact that he included one that was a weapon, though not one you could pick up... very handy for taking out that final foe.

Lava becomes water, and a fiend seems to be awaiting you at every corner. The map is curious for the fact that it lacks any form of knights, death or non. In fact, the entire monster selection is shareware only (though the weapon selection is not).

Explore, keep a close eye on your surroundings, and keep an eye on the sky as you might just find yourself some assistance.

This map is indicative of the exact gameflow that the gaming industry is without currently, and until it reclaims such, they will get very few of my dollars.
