I dunno about that. I'm reminded of a bumper sticker I've seen many times on many different shitty cars. (As an aside... why is it always the shittiest cars that have the wisest bumper stickers? Anyway.)
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
If we all went full-on Braveheart with nothing but yardwork tools and kitchen knives, I think the Muslims would have enough meat to throw into the grinder to outlast everyone else. Supposedly it's the largest religion in the world in terms of numbers of followers. Okay, sure, a lot of the nations playing host to the practitioners of this cancer of a religion don't have a military as technologically advanced as the United States, but that may not always be the case as time goes on. US weapons companies make a pretty penny selling our great shit (fire-and-forget tank murdering Javelin missile systems, etc etc) to other people, effectively selling our edge to others. Usually they only sell them to friendly nations, but... look at Syria. Those assholes are riding around in American armored hummers and carrying American issued M4 rifles that we left laying around. Whoops just a little bit. Like the other bumper sticker says, "Shit happens."
Anyway, the point is that the "best" doesn't always win anymore. Technology has made it so that the inferior can count themselves among the superior. As in... North Korea has nuclear weapons. Nobody can touch those fuckers now. We just try to ignore them and hope they don't accidentally lean on a launch button and start a domino effect where everyone else starts hitting their buttons too.
I am 99.999% sure that W Bush damn well KNEW that Saddam Hussein didn't have any nuclear weapons, otherwise we would not have dared going in there and fucking shit up, lest he be convinced that his only remaining option would be to set off a nuke. Fuck what Bush said, fuck what the media said and still says, whatever it may be. It's just common sense. You don't kick down a door that "might" have a cannon behind it aimed at the opening.
ps. holy shit, this is starting to get off topic something fierce. Dunno what most of that, especially the last part, had to do with ANYTHING at all, but... whatever. Lol.
