Hey all,
I used to be a frequent player. Had Q1 where I could scan/ join servers with a "gamespy" application which would show me the number of online players on each server. All I had to do was click whichever server I wanted to join.
Getting back to quake after a long time out of it. I like deathmatch servers. I am trying to figure out how to set up Quake on a new computer, I spent about 45 minutes reading different help files the other night, but just cannot find a "quick guide" to what I need:
If such a comprehensive guide exists, please direct my attention to it.
1. I *think* I can find my old disks for the game, but if not, need download.
2. what is the best "update" for graphics I whould run, (did we used to call these quake-engines?) and where/ how do I install it?
3. what software helps me scan/ join servers?
4. (finally) I used to have a bunch of "quick keys" hot linked for smart assed speech comments. Is there a guide to remind me how to do this (or perhaps transfer old files from my old computer?)
