  • Please Fix Glide2x.dll Error, GFX.wad Error, etc.

I want to play Quake tonight and can't, because In the General Help there is a sticky that baker posted and locked http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-hel...error-etc.html.. The links to the guides to fix these errors, the link redirect to the quakeone.com main page, there is nothing there for these errors... I have had to reinstall quake for the first time in many years and the GFX.wad Error and all that were not things I remembered how to fix, I always had a working folder and a back up of that, till I accidentally erased all my backups.. So now i'm trying to get proquake to work with no success, I changed the opengl.dll file opengl.old, Not sure if that was something good or bad... Need help with this, thanks.

    Download Darkplaces.
Copy your ID1 folder into the Darkplaces folder.
    Run Darkplaces.exe
Username : Atomic Robokid on Steam

Please check out my Quake made things:

Also could not find any references in forum search, I tried several.. No other way of asking than the forums... Hopefully that gets sorted out for others if nothing else.

But will darkplaces make proquake work? I have had problems with both clients being installed to my quake folder in the past.. I like darkplaces for offline maps and co-op but I prefer proquake because it has none of the special effects that slow me down in cases where people are actually on servers for matches or to play... But that is rare so I will probably just go with the darkplaces, it does have cool graphics.

Well I was doing like you said but went to check my id1 folder, stupid thing that happened, everything was empty in it, nothing not pak0, pak1 or pak2... I installed another copy to back up just in case, and thankfully it has all the files I need, still not sure if it will give me any of these errors.. But here goes nothing...

Install ProQuake in to its own folder, don't install it to the same location as DarkPlaces. This will make is easier to debug problems in the future. This will of course mean you'll have 2 copies of the ID1 folder, one copy in the ProQuake installation and one copy in the DarkPlaces installation.

                glide2.dll

There is a bad opengl32.dll in your Quake folder that comes with "GLQuake". Delete it.

I could show you how to make numerous engines share one ID1 folder without conflict. It's very unconventional though.

I have fte, darkplaces, proquake, fitzquake, qubism & directQ all sharing the same id1 folder. There is a drawback though .cfg files can become a mess.
