  • color lights in sw mode?

im making a few maps with worldcraft 3.3+adapter and i want to add some colored lights, but i cant play the gl clients on my pc so i cant see any colors.

is there a way to use color lights on software mode?

My pc is a compaq ipaq desktop celeron 800mhz 512 mb ram intel 815 graphics 32mb
As i said, i cant use opengl (at least not 3d), i also tried DirectQ but i got an error (i think theres not enough memory)

I'd be mildly shocked if you couldn't use ProQuake GL 4.5x. I've never met an Intel it couldn't run on. I was obsessed with Intel display adapter compatibility. (Then again, ProQuake doesn't support colored lights ... And I would likewise be shocked if FitzQuake 0.85 didn't work on your Intel also, and that engine does support colored lights).

    FitzQuake 0.85 changelog:

    - added fixes for Intel display adapters
I'm ignore the idea that maybe you have a grand total of 32 MB of RAM on your PC. If that really is the case, you literally cannot use a GL engine but this has nothing to do with your video card.

Anyway ... back to actual topic:

There are 3 software engines under active development at Inside3D. One or more of them support colored lights: Engoo (leileilol), Makaqu (Mankrip) and QBism Super8 (qbism).

They make changes so rapidly I can't keep track of which ones support what:

Engoo - The Worst Quake Engine In Existence
    Inside3d Forums • View topic - Makaqu
    qbism Super8 qbism game engine
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

solved color lights in software mode

        Worldcraft+Adapter+TyrLight+Engoo =

Thats how you get color lights on software mode, thanks a lot for the link to Engoo.

And yes, this pc is a piece of shi**, but i can play and map quake now!

On a curious note, i can play Half-life with d3d renderer and Unreal tournament too, only the OpenGl fails (driver is ver. 1.1 and theres no upgrade anymore)

Wow. It would be even more amazing if he was running win95/98 with it.

          Seriously, that's awesome.

You might need something called GLide for opengl to work on that video adapter. I have no idea though. Glide was more geared for 3dfx cards if i remember right
