Fix or Build New?
My laptop died. I think its an issue with my HD. Should I save $ and fix the laptop or build a new gaming rig?

BTW - I like to mention that I only play quake1 and I get about 250 FPS on the current laptop.

Laptop HD's are < $100, why don't you just fix it if you know that's the problem

Ei, I work on/in laptops all day.

If it is a Dell (especially), I might be able to hook you up.

Feel free to PM with the make/model of your laptop. Is your HDD IDE or Sata?

thanks master, but i think im fine. have both frys and micro center in area. hd should be around $50.

efess - fu. err...i mean, i might want 1000 fps in quake. sorry typo.

The HDD is the cheapest part and it's also by far the easiest to replace. Order a new one now and you'll be playing Quake again tomorrow.

It sounds like you really want a gaming PC. If you were to fix your laptop, you could sell it.

Use your Tax Return to get that super-duper PC.

ya, laptop is fixed now. i might build a new gaming pc also. not sure tho as it seems to be a waste since i only play q1.
