Ok yea, those times are good for me..
Also another good idea is to make some walkabout rounds around the Quake Live hub too hehe. I think there could be lots of players there that are Quake purists that could appreciate some variety of Quake multiplayer action
A lot of old pro's I think that are lost in Quake or think it's no longer around - Original Quake that is. How I know? I been hanging around a bit and heard the chatter, I also played there when there was no other online Quake available. Anyway, invite them too, if you'd like
Cheers

That's a really good idea about the Steam Hub, thanks man! The denver.quakeone.com server is open 24 hours. We mostly play in the evenings. I would say most games have been happening at 9pm central - 11pm as late as 2 or 3 am central. Sundays are the nights we really try to get together on the regular, but there are games almost nightly. I'm unsure of what times you're most available. Could also get you into the Discord , and we have a server-status bot in there too that shows activity live when people join servers.Originally posted by Gem View PostAs a final idea to attract new players, I encourage you to post your very useful letter - of how to get into Quake - in the Steam Community under the Quake game hub there. There could be players there that may want a community or more game-modes to play. By (if possible), uniting these two communities, this (may) strengthen the player base and contribute more to the health of Quake nowadays. Maybe there, many could be lost looking for direction of what and where to play
As for myself, I would like to get into it but I can't always make the Shmack hours 4-6pm EST (generally), to play some Quake. Is like the Denver server open or has players 24/7? I'm looking for something like that where I can join up and play at more flexible hours. Good work on everything btw

Hey Mr.Burns!Originally posted by Mr.Burns View PostHi Frenzy,
Great idea. Peg, Polarite and Cortex worked hard to do the same thing on the euro servers.
I'm not expecting anyone to fix this but purely just for info I did try connecting from the uk to denver.quakeone.com a few moment ago and got "host error: cl_readfromserver: Lost connection " before crashing out of Proquake. Quakespasm spiked allowed me to connect and downloaded a number of wavs plus a map before finally connecting. Is the server a "CTF only" setup or are there other options for other fun mods?
Regardless, good work and thankss to all those involved.
Kind regards
Monty
ProQuake won't connect to the server. Qrack will, QSSM, FitzQuake, and probably some others will that I'm not stating. However, ProQuake won't anymore. Also, it's NOT a CTF only server at all! The modes it has are Practice, Airshot, Pub CTF, 3wave CTF, FFA, TDM, Headhunters, CA, DMM4, Wipeout, and RA! Here's a link to the Mod website, and there's a Modes link as well CRMod7 - Quake 1 Competition Server
Also here's the alias commands for them when on the server if you want to jump on and try them out:
// playmode aliases - commands for console
normal
practice
match
dm
ctf
wipeout
ca
ra
dmm4
ctfdmm4
airshot

Returning or New? Find us! We still play!
There is a Discord link at the top of QuakeOne.com to help lead you to us!
All of the current active players are on Discord, and they are more than willing to help both longtime Quake veterans and complete newcomers. If you need help setting up Quake, getting connected, or getting into games with us, there are people there who will gladly help.
Most evenings, the active players can be found on denver.quakeone.com. Efess has also set up a browser-based version of Quake, which is pretty amazing. Yes, Quake can finally be played through a browser! You can actually play on your mobile phone now, too!!
You can check it out at http://netquake.io. The FAQ section explains how to get started step by step. If you already own Quake, all you need to do is upload your pak1.pak file through the site for a quick and easy way to play. Quake is also still very cheap on Steam, and if you are not familiar with setting it up after buying it, the browser option makes getting started much easier.
On top of that, http://netquake.io also lets you play for free on a number of shareware servers if you just want to try it out first. It even has a Frogbot server you can join, so you do not even need to upload your pak1.pak file just to jump in and see what it is like.
If you connect to the Discord currently linked through the QuakeOne.com website, you will find players and the help you need!
We play games weekly on Sunday evenings at 9:00 PM EST on denver.quakeone.com. You can also use the Server Browser right here on QuakeOne.com to check the servers directly from your browser.
You also do not need to download Discord to join, since Discord can be used right through your web browser as well at http://www.discord.com.
Happy Quake'n! Hope to see you!Last edited by Frenzy; 04-09-2026, 01:05 PM.Tags: None
