I'm pretty hopeful about this and as soon as I've been paid I'll be backing the KS. Romero just released another Doom map so it looks like he's pretty serious about honing his chops for that old school FPS vibe. At the very least, there's nothing that say "cheesy 90's" than cyberpunk so he's onto something there. Though, admittedly, being an old fart, I'd have preferred something in the gothic/hellish style of old Id. A real Quake sequel would've been cool.

Regardless, I reckon he probably learned quite a lesson after Daikatana and he really seems to respect the fans of his older titles. That has to be a positive place to start making something harking back to the good old days. It certainly can't be worse than the corporate clusterfuck that is Doom 4 multiplayer!
I got the phone call at 4 a.m.
