  • Solitude: The Halo Inspired Quake-Based Game

    Project: Solitude

Solitude is a Halo-inspired total conversion using the Quake engine to make a multiplayer and single player experience for both Windows and the Sony Playstation Portable.

These guys are diehard determined to finish the game, despite hitting several roadblocks along the way. Their determination should be commended and when they finish the game, it is certain to be supported in some shape or form by the Universal Server project.

Solitude Project Page at Moddb. As far as I know, the above gameplay video is their content in DarkPlaces. And it is my understanding that the project will be open source upon release.

John Carmack Releases Enemy Territory/Return to Castle Wolfenstein Source

Thread at Inside3d.com --- where most of the serious Quake development discussion that isn't happening at QuakeOne.com occurs (and far more involved and technical than what is discussed here). Enemy Territory is the free multiplayer game released in late 2003 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein was released in 2001.

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
