I think you are a very positive person and appreciated the "at least someone is trying to do something" comment, I wasn't making an attempt to portray you in any other way.

I was emphasizing that we have different philosophies for handling these things.

Highlight of on-topic portion , obviously the idea that we are moving forward.

The future hopefully consists of updated things that old servers of quake do not feature,and the very thought/concept of servers coming into the new ages of NetQuake and recieving these updated server benifits will also require abiding by the new methodology that will be imposed.

As in, if you want cake and ice cream, eat your fucking dinner/supper.No skipping the main course (rules,obv) and getting the deserts (breaking rules,being allowed to play at servers anyway.)

A very common situation considering dm1.quaketx.com / dm.quaketx.com & its "Kimp Friendly Zone"
Being a pile of shit (kimp) shouldn't be rewarded with anything,including ban-free-zone's.

wow thanks baker! i have been suggesting this for years for the kimp problem, I had a feeling that it was being worked on.. I use windows, and have very little to no knowledge about linux or mac, and how this will affect them but hopefully things expand on this for them in the future.

and as far as trucking a thread about kimp should only be done in forums that start out with clear intentions of being tollish. I agree with wicked and golden boy, Its old and annoying and for people who only have isp's in their area that use data caps and don't want to waste their bandwidth on seeing a truck.. however This thread is talking about the riddance of a nuisance that has plagued our community for several years.. We should all be grateful about the progress made to prevent this type of behavior in the future from people because nomatter what there will always be that one that finds amusement in destruction.. which is fine but find it elsewhere. I usually refer them to a website that turns hacking into a game with missions that are legal on their site, its called Hack This Site! its fun and educational especially for learning how to patch simple mistakes in servers. I played around with it for a while untill i got bored and had to start using youtube to figure out how to complete a mission.
