I vote for Batman. Superman is over-rated. Batman would use a lot of Krytonite (If you want to correct my spelling, by all means, be my guest.) Superman is okay, but I think that Batman is a better hero for people to look up to.

superman has alienated himself from the human race. he now refers to people not as people, but as "humans".

If the DCAU is anything to go by, Superman may be able to wipe the floor with Batman physically, Batman is very much prepared for anything superman will throw at him. Plus Batman arguably is stronger willed, because he's gone through way more then superman has, physically and mentally.

Plus I generally find superhero's as powerful as superman stupid and unbelievably boring to watch/read about.

Not all superhero's are created equal, and the whole "If Batman has Kryptonite" argue is invalid,because he does carry Kyrptonite ,and has been ever since starting to work with Superman. The key to Batman is he never just "up and throws dukes" with someone.

Batman is all about planning and being a methodical superhero, complete with the darkness , bats, and a persona that is waaaaay cooler than Supes could ever be. The real understatement is how can a evil genius such a Lex Luthor be Superman's real arch villan, and Batman's arch villan fits the MatchUp waaaay better.

i dont know if anyone knows this, but the comics established batman never keeps kryptonite far. it would be a matter of batman getting to it before superman can stop him.

Superman hands down. He cannot be hurt by batman. Superman is an extraterrestrial super being. Batman is a spoiled rich kid with toys.

Superman does always seem to have a super power specially tailored for his "which ever moment of crisis he is in" moments which makes him seem a bit silly and "Childish". Batman however is a normal human being like you or me (just much much much richer and a traumatized past which lead him to a life of crime stopping. He's essentially "batty" and chases down crooks in hopes to one day face off with the thug(s) who killed his parents.

Superman is just to powerful and this poll is obv one sided if you stick to the source.

superman can just invent new magic powers whenever he's in trouble.
whereas batman actually makes some sense.

if they were fighting against each other for whatever reason, yeah, superman would beat batman without contest using some magic bat-repelant secretion from his ears or something.

batman is certainly rich enough to buy some kryptonite, if he can keep his identity secret for long enough, and then superman is just a pansy.
however, there's also a risk that batman will get distracted by an orgy with robin, so it's really hard to predict who would win!
