Getting back from decade hiatus

Hi all, I'm looking to get back into clan arena after roughly a decade haitus. I used to play q1 very heavily during the 90's and into the early 2000's. I see from the forums that max.essentrix.net may still be live ? lol... I played there a lot along with some clanberry servers and a few others like cql and caplus. I'm curious what client people are using these days ? I played with pro-quake (wqpro) back in the day , do people use quake live or is pro-quake still generally the main client ? Can I just follow the installs on the client page here and get up and running ?

R00k has me hooked on Qrack.

Been using it for years now, it has the right amount of graphics/performance for me.

max.essentrix.net used to forward to my server (banana.essentrix.net) after whoever it was stopped running it, but now Essntrix doesn't host Quake, far as I know. Take a peek at the server browser on the the right side of the homepage here to see what's up now.
