DarkPlaces and Quake Retextuing Project/Plague's Pak

Quake Remodelling Project's and Plague's Pak both can work DarkPlaces, but it requires a lot of renaming of the files to the convention used by DarkPlaces.

The following file has all of the renaming done for you, just put in to c:\quake\id1 or equivalent folder and start up DarkPlaces.

You probably will want the Quake Retexturing Project as well, but that works in the same in DarkPlaces as most other engines, just unzip to c:\quake\id1\textures, you can get that here -> http://facelift.quakedev.com/retexture/

If the size of the Quake Retexturing Project download is a little large for your type of internet connection, you might want to consider an unofficial version of the 8/20/2005 version of the QRP that uses some sophisticated tricks to compress the QRP down to 4.9 MB with almost no noticeable change in quality (Download: Unofficial QRP 4.9 MB Version)
