        REALTIME FONT CHANGING

Someone mentioned to me while playing online that they couldn't see the screen text.
What in fact was the console font didn't agree with them at their preferred resolution.

        Use gl_consolefont "fontname"
Default font names are found in Qrack's main pak:
        "/quake/qrack/pak0.pak"
        /textures/charsets/
        charset-1
        charset-2
        charset-3
        charset-4
        charset-5
        charset-6
        charset-99

use gl_consolefont "original" or "" for the old Quake charset!

I have a font menu option noted in the 'TODO' list

on a side note, I have noticed a more than normal amount of DM games lately, which had me digging out my retro-arcade sound pak!

So... I just re-installed win7 64-bit. For some reason, my mouse is all f'ed up in Qrack now. It works fine until I try to move it slowly, in which case the crosshair doesn't move at all. This problem is specific to Qrack, Darkplaces and Glpro haven't had any problems. Any thoughts\suggestions?

I'm lot 100% sure about win7 but you could try adding this to your command line...

            -noforcerpm -dinput

Also, in the console try turning m_filter off "m_filter 0"

I already had -dinput in the line. Adding the -noforcerpm and turning the m_filter to 0 didn't help. Thanks for replying though. Interestingly, when I was messing around with things before, the problem went away while I had the Logitech Setpoint software open. Closed it and it came back, opened it and it disappeared again. And now it seems that was a fluke since that's making absolutely no difference now.

goto Index of /qrack/dist and try the 2.01 build
1.90 hates win7 and the mouse just suffers as a result...

Check your BIOS to see if USB is set to BIOS implementation or OS, think it should be OS

Thanks Rook. That version seems to be working fine.

I've installed Qrack 1.90 with rigel's texture pack, and everything is way too dark to play. I set the gamma and contrast, but it goes dark again after a second. The only time in game that the gamma looks like the one i tried to set it at is when I get hit. I've tried editing the config, and all the things in the stickied "Quake is too dark" thread, but none of them are working. I'm running XP sp3 on a geforce 6200 if that matters.

Try gamma 0.6 and contrast 2.

Hi Rook, I'm having huge lag problems with qrack both 1.9 and 2.01, I seem to be able to run d3dpro444, but not qrack, it was working fine then all of a sudden poof.

This is on all servers, shmack , thisserversucks, quakeone etc.

                          I'm running xp with a p 2.4 and radeon x700

Some ATI cards suffer with OpenGL clients in my experience. You can try DirectQ, dxProquake, or darkplaces. In the meantime, are their any errors messages? Try -condebug on the command line? Maybe bump -mem 64?

Thanks R00k, I agree, I never had any problems with my 6600gt. Anybody have an old agp nvidia card?

i gotta question that has probably been covered, how do i get qrack to work again after installing darkplaces beta? I did back up a copy of my quake folder to a flash drive before i put dp in it, but i dont want to have 2 big quake folders on my harddrive just to save qrack.. this is what happens when i try to run qrack or proquake, my screen flashes like it is going to run, and then it doesn't even show up in my processes list when i alt+ctrl+del to view whats going on or to kill it. Do i need to move something around in the folders or can somebody point me to the forum that covered this because i couldn't find it. I put this question here because its a setup/resetup question.

<-- couldnt remember how to embed videos in the forums so here a link in reference to what im talking about -->
