  • Help: OS X GL ProQuake v4.46 player models all white

I looked for anyone discussing this in this forum and could only find one unanswered post. I'm experiencing a problem in which all the player models are white in OS X GL ProQuake v4.46. This doesn't happen in Quake.app, only in GLQuake.app.

One of the things I did to troubleshoot this was to freshly install Quake and run GLQuake.app in it and experienced the same problem: all player models are pure white.

    How can I fix this?

Quake didn't feel the same for me in osx.

I'm running bootcamp now. Can you do the same?

It's a bug, use a different version of ProQuake OSX.

        This one, for example: http://quakeone.com/proquake/older_v...uake4Zeta0.zip
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I've considered running Bootcamp. I already run Quake in a Parallels Desktop VM under OS X. And I wanted to explore a better performing client. This is why I explored running the OS X ProQuake version. I also use a number of Parallels & VMWare VMs for software development purposes and prefer the flexibility of swapping VMs rather than dedicating my HD space to one OS.

I gave this a try, and it didn't work. I'm going to give Baker's suggestion a try now.

That did the trick. Thanks, Baker.

I've updated Mac ProQuake 4.45 to fix the skin issue.

The ProQuake page has been updated as well.
