It is not that difficult to make a poly-clay figure; almost everyone can make one. I did not make a shambler yet, but I can show you something similar:
More, it is quite easy to add fur to your poly-clay figure. You can cannibalize some old plush, and add the fur fabric to skin your subject...
I have made some figures that way in the past:





it is quite a cheap method.
Anyway, 3d printing is another thing!

Do you have a 3D printer?
If so Blender will make your job a snap to import and export to a dozen model formats and Inkscape will even generate the gcode for the printer.

I´m not a grandma or so, but inspired by this toy I stitched something...
Now I can dream from Quake -> on QUAKE!!

Everything is handmade, even the pillow!
