Install:
Just extract in your QUAKE\HIPNOTIC folder.
IMPORTANT - Start the game with engine.exe -hipnotic (NOT -game hipnotic) !!!

Hello webangel,

After testing your great HUD pack I noticed some issues that Iīd like to mention:
- The Mjolnir hammer has no number "0" in its icon
- The Mjolnir hammer is a little too big and positioned too deep compared to other icons
- The Mjolnir hammer INV2_ + INV1_ icons are too bright/pale compared to others.
- The laser gun is a little to small compared to others.
- The laser gun INV2_ is very dark compared to others

I reworked these. If you like, you can implement them into your pack.

Hi Seven,
thank you for your suggestions,
Iīm close to finish the rework of the INVA1-5 icons.
The hammer had no 0 because I had no "bind" to it.
I will update the first post soon.

Please explain me the problem with the transparency...I donīt see something is wrong.....

Hello webangel,

the issue has nothing to do with your great work.

It is a DarkPlaces issue. To test it, read this post.

You can start a map and give yourself all weapons with the impulse cheat.

Now type: sbar_alpha_bg 0.1 into console.
You will see that all icons in the upper row get VERY transparent.
But NOT the MP1 or MP2 icons. They stay unchanged.
Now type: sbar_alpha_bg 0.7 into console.
The visual is good.
You can also use a value of "1", but I like the icons a little subtl/transparent.

Please test it and tell me, if you can confirm it.

The problem is, that the default value is "0.4" (if you dont have this cvar in your config).
That gives a weird look, because the external ID1 icons are less transparent compared to the MP1 and MP2 icons (in the upper row = viewsize 100).
I saw that you already tried to add transparency into the icon files themselve, but this is only a "workaround" for the real engine issue.

Fixed by making the id1 weapons not faded, not sure why they ever were... This way they look like the mission pack weapons and all is consistent, but of course the hud will look different than previous versions in all modes.

I supose this is working just with a special version of DP, I guess with one of those autobuilds.. Would you recommend me one?

EDIT: I installed it, the MPs works fine, but I lost my configs on the normal Quake.. :/ I have my config.cfg untouched on the ID1 folder btw..
