NOOOO!
I'm still getting the original texture!!!!!
It looks like I may well have to reinstall Quake in a more logical manner!
(strangely, now I DO get the texture more after doing that- but it's only strong in low-light conditions- in brighter light the original texture shows- I'm guessing the two textures respond differently to shadow).
If it helps- I also have a PAK2 file (I think it was for some other modification a while back) which may be causing it.
EDIT- Actually I'll do a bit of tinkering first- I don't want to be bogging the topic down with my screwy installation options- I've realized that I am in fact missing my DPMOD folder and apparently shouldn't be. :/
