The first time I played Quake I thought when I killed a soldier i was going to get their gun. I really think it would be cool to start out with a shotgun, then have to gather weapons from a fallen enemy with limited ammo to progress. Maybe a weapons locker hidden somewhere. But the blatent weapon/ammo placement seems a bit comical now. And I wish monster roamed more around the map instead of just pacing back and forth.

then theres the mod idea...taking it to a ...hole...notha...level.... Imagine being able to pick up the shamblers claws, actually wearing them over your hands and doing incredible slashing lol...at some cost..maybe you'd have to drop your weapons to pick up the claws ....then you pick up the wizards head and wear it, spit acid on everything...at the cost of warped vision...grab the Fiend legs for massive charging and jumping once every 30seconds... build as you go!It Takes A Tough Man To Make A Tender Rocketjump

HaH, I remember that. I was disappointed when they made that for the Apple then ported it to the C64, notice the movement code suxors! But, thats prety much what i had in mind. Searching for hidden secret walls was half the fun in Wolf3D

Lol ! Yea, I dont think they knew the 64 had Sprites when they ported it. Looks like they copied and pasted blocks of edited ASCII text to create the graphics movements. If you notice, the movement is much like moving a cursor around in a text editor , but on a much larger scale.
I remember playing this on the 64 when it came out. I bought the floppy from a local toy store, copied it from the 1541 disk drive onto a blank, and returned it to the store for a refund. Later on, SW companies started intentionally placing 'errors' in certain sectors of the floppy to prevent copying. Those were the 'elite' days !

Hello seanstar,
i love your double barrel shotgun V_Model in your screenshot (first post).
Would you be so nice and share it with us ?
Maybe others would be happy as well.
I was looking for a model like this since a long time.
Thank you very much for your effort.
