  • WXQoole Win 7 Version of Qoole

Hey guys, I just stumbled upon this little gem in the making. WXQoole. It's still unfinished but even so it has been mostly re=scripted and the way it works is very win 7 compatible as well as tablet/tablet pc friendly.

If you're a lover of Qoole but just can't stand the limitations of the old Qoole00 and want something that's a really great map maker.. I'd strongly recommend that you take a look at this free to download project :

Link to downloads : Downloads - wxqoole - Qoole 99 wxWidgets port - Google Project Hosting

Link to Fixes and Workarounds (for things like manually editing preferences :
    wxqoole-dev | Google Groups

Hope some of you like what you see. If you are into it etc, please help this guy out and post where ever you can to help get the word out there about this.

BTW this is my first post here so hello to you all

    Regards,
    Jax_Cavalera

    Qoole Bible

Hey guys, to add to the above post, and perhaps this deserves a post of it's own, but below is a link to a "Qoole Bible" if you will that I compiled a long time ago. It's a bit all over the place but if you use the search function to find specific key words, it is a powerful tool to have.

It has a lot of information for working inside of Qoole but most of the techniques could be applied to other map editors as well I'm sure. This information no longer exists on the internet which is why I've gone to this much effort to preserve it and re put it back out there for anyone still doing Quake 1 Maps.

    Thanks,
    Jax

I would like to thank you for pointing that out. I don;t know anything except what I have seen on your Post. I noticed the 'about' in the program doesn't work or when i did it. Let me know what else you find out- and ill add it to the 14 QOOLE Tutorial Videos description. You mentioned windows 7 and all. What is the program makers intent with this? What is its advantages over the Classic?
Ill be MORE than happy to mention it. Heres the video 1 of 14

P.S.I HATE Windows 7 as it was supposed to be a 'upgrade'.
Upgrades are supposed to do MORE than the previous version and do MORE with Less resources.

              WIndows 7

Oh I HAVE ran windows 7. believe me I didnt go into my decision blind.
Rememebr what I said- lie when XP came out over ALL the other OS.

A UPGRADE to be called a UPGRADE MUST: "Run all and more of the same programs as previous OS. Using far less resources.

Why do I need 'windows xp mode' then?? If its a upgrade I shouldnt HAVE TO!
Then- you CANT interchange shit between each OS. Now I can run XP (CAn but dont) on 64mb o RAM well. Yet WIndows 7 the 'big upgrade' according to its paperwork REQUIRES 4gb of RAM just for the 'XP Mode".
I found a wonderful page on the 2 OS. WinXP or 7 - Microsoft Windows XP Professional & Home Edition & Media Center Edition (MCE)

Plus XP runs on ANY MACHINE really. lol- if you try to get 'Windows 7' the 'upgrade' to run any PC made b4 2008 or so. In all reality (without my personal opinions) Windows XP should of came AFTER Windows 7 NOT before.
I have 5-6GB of XP Drivers. Windows 7 has a tiny archive of drivers. But we already know that about 7.

I have given it 4-5 chances. PLUS!! Customers STILL bring their BRAND NEW Laptops and computers to our shop.. Why? To put WINDOWS XP on it!
No more crashes- they now have XP!

I hear you about DirectX11 and shit that XP CAN but doesnt run. That has NOTHING to do with it CANT RUN it. Its the fact that its maker has LOCKED Windows XP out. I hope its sooner than later that someone hacks XP to let IE9.0 and the Upgrades in. You have to face it, Windows XP should of stayed until 2024 not just 2014. Plus someone needs to patch the Vista/7 file lockout.
If that gets done-soon.. Microsoft will be hurting as there will be no need to move to a 'new OS.
I am more angry that they LET the Monopoly run its course without suing them again. They are LOCKING US out OS by OS. How is that Moral or even Legal- (Which it isnt) is beyond me. Now with VMWare etc fewer have a need to leave XP.

Well the Tutorial's Basics apply to mostly all other Level Editors. Plus It seems to make a lot of people happy. Thats worth it to me alone.

Liven it up bro. It's informative but completely deadpan. Learning should be fun.

Enthusiasm alone could add some color. You should get YOU to make the tutorial. You have a personality and I doubt you could hide it if you tried.
