Have just recently started playing Quake again, and can't believe all the great hard work that's still going into such an old game.

I have been playing with skys myself, and thought I'd share my work so far.














These all have a starfield background which looks best when moving slowly. I use upper scroll speed -0.1 and lower scroll speed 0.6

Yes, feedback is a nice thing isnt it ?!
You should maybe start to give feedback as well.
Only downloading and using without saying something is what kills most projects...

Anyhow, starfire looks best from your compilation.
It fits best into the Quake universe.
But it misses a little depth. Try if you can raise it a little bit.

The blue sky is spectacular!! I'm planning to use that nice red sky for Abyss of Pandemonium last level.

you should make skybox versions of these skies

personally like skyboxes way more then the oldschool 'scrolling skies',
and those skies look like they would be great as skyboxes

Seven has a good point, but these are very interesting and could be used for individual maps to make them distinct.
