Cinematic Navy Seals - Any Interest?

That would be cool to have a HD Navi Seals MOD, i like that
I was already thinking to make that by myself using my qc from my WW2 mod,
because NaviSeals QC is abit messy xD

I have a own weaponhandling and reloadingsystem which is not messy like in NavySeals, and Weaponchanging is done via "cl_gunpitch" command (idk if that exist on Darkplaces)..
This mod is currently PSP only, but im working on a DP version too.

Cool. Well any help you guys would be willing to give I'd very much appreciate it. I'd really just like some new more realistic gun textures and/or models as well as some particle effect tweaking.

I may be able to jump back into some level design work for it... but time is definitely my enemey there. If at all possible, I'd just like to stick to audio and music duties. But this could be pretty cool if updated properly.

ive seen some nice HL2 models for an abandoned mod with modern guns that i was able to convert ro mdl without animations

I LOVE NAVY SEALS!! is one of my preferred mods! I really like the idea of revamping. I donīt have enough time for the "mapping", but I offer my knowledge in qc and darkplaces for navy seals. navy seals is open source, I just would change some things to keep realistic effects (such as particles), realistic weapon change (add code for draw animation maybe), fix some glitches, add frikbots, and maybe change HUD.

Navy Seals is actually my favorite Quake mod. Reason being, SOCOM FTB1 is one of my favorite games ever and the Navy Seals mod has the potential to be converted to an FTB1 clone.

I may be interested in submitting some media/mods, depending on the direction you are trying to go with it. I noticed you mentioned darkplaces. If that means HD everything, nevermind, not interested.

IMHO all that eye-candy looks like shit. we have shitty models and guns...lets make the bullets look amazing and coat the world with so much luma and normals that everything looks like plastic. Not my cup of tea.

..or actually maybe it is, cause I don't like tea.

Hey guys,

One of the very first mods I ever remember playing was the Navy Seals mod for Quake. At the time it was pretty amazing... especially the realism and after completing EpiQuake I decided to boot up the ole Navy Seals mod to see how it holds up. To my surprise, pretty well.. though it could definitely use some sound and music love.

Of course I couldn't leave it alone (I'm in between gigs with loads of downtime) so I replaced all of the pistol, MP5, and shell casing sounds and put together a new piece of fitting music. The weapon sounds are now in stereo and pack some serious punch while retaining the realistic vibe and the music has got some serious Hans Zimmer The Rock / Crimson Tide flare going on. So if you're a fan of Zimmers action work from the 90s you'll love it.

So, is there any interest in a complete audio / music mod for this? OR, is anyone interested in completely revamping this mod with new maps, textures, possibly new models on top of new sound / music all to work, look, and sound nicely within DarkPlaces?
