So, I'm getting a new mouse in a couple of days courtesy of a generous room mate. It's nothing amazing, it's just a cheap gaming mouse. But weirdly enough, it's my first gaming mouse.

Eventually, I'll get the Cyborg R.A.T. 9 mouse, because it'd really help me personally with a lot of programs I use.
Now, although I'm somewhat curious as to what mouse/keyboard/interface you have to play quake with. Do any of you prefer to play on a non PC based port of quake?
I generally just play nQuake/Proquake/Darkplaces. But I do keep thinking of booting up the Wii port for a giggle.
Oh, and one thing I would like to ask, which means at least everybody should be able to have some input is;
Gaming interfaces, are they needed? Does a quake player need a gaming mouse? I would say that it's obviously a minor help, but I don't think quake needs a gaming mouse. But I've not owned one, so maybe my opinion is from my naivety.
