Hey. if you don't mind me asking, what was the cause?

Wikipedia suggests that sleeping in an unusual position can be a cause but then it refers also to more serious causes.

I remember a few years back, bending down to pick something up and twisting to grasp it. I got a pain like electricity shoot up my arm and into my neck. For a week or so, I could hardly move as the slightest twinge shot the same pain through me.
It was bloody awful.

I hope you get well soon! That arm/hand nerve stuff can be terrible.

My dad had something similar happen a few years back. His Ulner Nerve was damaged and his hand started to get atrophied. At it's worst, it looked skeletal.

After several surgeries and years later now, his hand is better but it's only 60% of what it used to be and he can't fully grip things with that hand anymore. The doctors said that it's as good as it's going to be.

He was afraid he wouldn't be able to do anything with it again. Luckily though, it did get better and he can use it again for a lot of things he couldn't for a while there.

Ya I fell asleep with my hand bent under my chin for a few hours.
I guess enough to cut off the circulation. I'm about 70% usefulness now. still cant raise my hand like high-five, nor use the wasd. But each day it gets a little better. 2-4 weeks! ugh! better than not i suppose...

ya every day seems to be getting better; i hope not to plateau...

i can't even hold a pen to write my name.
I told my wife when i get 99% i will draw every day.
but in reality i'll play quake lol

it is scary-frustrating. but i keep thinking, 'it's only temp.' yet it does make one humble.

i just want to wave a flag for all the people who suffer from a more severe form of this condition (neuropathy) .. it really grounds you into thinking about how much of life, we take for granted.

This year my teenage kids and I are going to carve out a jack o lantern, we was in walmart the other day. I looked at my daughter and was like...


"You know what I miss the most about Halloween? Carving pumpkins!" and then she's like, walk with me daddy. We went and picked one out. Apparently designations are like this..


Daughter will stencil out the design (she said Jack Skeleton most likely)
Son will gut the pumpkin of all its innards
I get the knife for carving, OH YEAH. GIVING THE BIG KID THE BLADE. Nothing can go wrong!
