I definitely need to dude, I played Quake Live a bit a couple months back when they relaunched on Steam. I'm gonna have to dedicate a Saturday to reinstalling and configuring Q1 to get some games in. I imagine there's only Clan Arena, if any activity left yes? No TDM stuff going on?

Thanks a bunch man, I do appreciate you taking the time. Definitely share as you see fit, the site is fairly new, less than a year old. Just a bunch of friends trying to procure some good nerd content but we're at about 30k hits a day now and hoping to get that up. So keep going back if you see anything you like.

It's actually the exact opposite, Clan Arena rarely sees any action now days. Straight up TDM is what gets played most time's. I typically follow the games, way back in the day when IHOC server's died off I followed the gaming, straight to Clan Arena. Now that Clan Arena has all but received the final nail in the coffin, I followed the games to Team DeathMatch.

Anytime you want to get setup just hit me up, I got hella contact methods. I shared your article with them TDM fellas. Remember i0v Shok? I shared with him for sure, the others will read it as they pop open their browsers!

Reading your article has me wondering if "gaming" alone is actually enough to define a culture at all. Gaming at its fundamental level is merely consumption of entertainment products (in a group, optionally.)

After reading up on definitions of "culture", I currently tend to think that gaming is more of a sub-culture, akin to "grunge" or "punk" or "rockers". Because gaming is most likely not the sole thing that defines somebody's culture.

                It's an interesting idea though.

I have to agree with GB on this. I always thought that Culture defined people and their way of life. I love gaming and I will always be a gamer. I play retro games, I play new releases, I buy new consoles -- but gaming doesn't define me as a person, it's only a part of my life. Maybe I'm just not passionate enough about it?
