Hacked Quakeone.com shortcut malware maybe?

I just loaded up the Quakeone forum and had these shortcuts present :



I didn't notice till I clicked on New posts and got some pop up ad.

Is this local to my machine (running counter measures now) or
is anyone else getting it?

Is it just aggressive ad software?

I dunno!


Edit : once I posted this thread, within my post words are getting shortcutted (yellow with a box arrow).

Stinger got it, killed it, reset browser, all good now.

It gets better! Something called DiscountSmasher had installed itself as a Chrome Extension!

Since I had reset the browser earlier, it was inactive but still! The funking nerve!



This machine is so due a rebuild.

Its easy to get these kinds of adware , they seem to come from some of the older Java Update installs but cant be sure.

Auto-installing its own adware chrome extension tho'
