  • Linux/Unix Users?

I'm wondering who uses Linux or Unix on this forum. Post your distro if you do

  • #2
I'm using the heavily modified Linux distro called OS X.

EDIT: ...aaand there goes my credibility down the drain again. OS X is based on Darwin, which is based on NetBSD.

    *le sigh*

I've been on Manjaro Xfce a little over 3 years now and I've been using Linux on/off for the last 15 years. I have Microsoft Spyware 10 also, but hardly use it.

I have used these distro's: Fedora, Slackware, Debian, Gentoo, CentOS, Redhat(at work), Solaris(at work). Currently using Arch Linux on the laptop, Ubuntu on the desktop, and Linux Mint on the media player. Looking for some place to install rhel-server-7.2-x86_64-dvd.iso. They were giving it away free to developers in April.

I've used Linux off and on for about 20 years, jumping to and from MS Windows when the other pissed me off..

I wouldn't say I'm a power user but I feel very comfortable in a Linux environment (terminal or DM) since prior to Linux and Windows I was a heavy DOS user and WANG!

Right at this moment I don't have it installed, but I'm usually a Mageia or Slackware guy. I might install Ubuntu 9 or 10 if I don't have anything better to do, but yeah. Those two are my picks. I usually pick Gnome 2 as my shell, but I have used Blackbox, MATE, and KDE.
