Cool as hell idea man... I had a Hot Wheels collection when I was a youngster, you know, way back in the damn sixties . I had one of those round Hot Wheels carriers with the handle at the top like a suit case. Had all my cars wrapped in toilet paper to protect them... And I have no idea what ever happened to it . Wish I had that one back!
I agree the Quake "Q" could be a little more prominent... But none the less, sweet idea... nice job!
Make a heavy wheels Shambler. Actually, it would be cool if you had a car for each monster and the ranger. Especially if you took the time to pick cars that represent the monster before you have even added the wrap. Like a big rig for the shambler and maybe a jeep for the ranger, etc...
edit: Actually something smaller than a big rig for shambler cause you're gonna need a big rig for chthon and shub
...and a fingerboard tarbaby
...you could paint rotfish on the wheels of one of the big rigs.
To be 100% honest. I don't like the new texture you put on it BUT I think it's awesome that you made that.
I'm not that fond of it either.
My first idea was to put the nailgun texture on it in an attempt to fit it to the casting of the car, but that turned out even worse.
I think I'll do another one when I find the time to do so.
It may be the lighting but I think the Q doesn't stand out enough.
Actually, it's both - the decal foil is transparent, so the whole texture is "mixed" with the color of the material it is put on (grey/silver in this case). The Q has a white (transparent) border that, in real life, is silver and reflecting now.
Which means: it looks better in real life than on video, but the Q still disappears a bit in the background.
I just watched your Heavy Wheels: Six Feet Under vid. That was epic, brah!
Thanks. I'm currently experimenting with different ways of modifying my cars and that was one I was actually pleased with.
Best one, IMO.
I like that one too, I think the image and the different parts of the model fit perfectly
I just watched your Heavy Wheels: Six Feet Under vid. That was epic, brah! It started off slow like the quake car but then you got into all kinds of stuff. I did not expect all that. There are a couple more videos by you in the recommended thingy you get after a vid. Imma go watch them.
Yeah. I noticed the shrinkwrap was also adding a glare. Maybe seeing it in real life I would have a different opinion. I don't like saying bad things about someone's project and I didn't mean any offense at all. I really just didn't like the texture. The rest of it though (the effort/skill and what not) is awesome IMO.
I wish I could just drill a hole in my computer, shrink wrap it and finish my game engine
To be 100% honest. I don't like the new texture you put on it BUT I think it's awesome that you made that. You could have just as easily put a texture on it that I do like, and I realize that.
I build custom Hot Wheels cars in my free time. Usually I use artwork from (death) metal bands, last week I thought it would be nice to put some Quake textures on one of the ugliest cars ever built
