Not what I'd call great, but for 30 bucks it's not too bad.

Yeah, I know a little bit around the computer.
I know what/where/how to install (not drivers, the hardware work) these:
            processor
            ram(s)
Hard Drive (only 1, no experiance with slaves)
            cd/dvd rom/burner drives
            floppy drives
            Video Card
            Sound Card
            Power Supply
fans (just about everything except hard drive fan)
and yes, I know what onboard audio is. It's the shitty audio built in w/ ur motherboard. Just like video is built in, it's shit. Although this sound card is not great, it's better than onboard audio. That's what I was looking for. It's also cool to have one, hehe.

I have onboard sound, and everything sounds great. I don't see the point of shelling out money on a sound card. Get new speakers or headphones if stuff sounds like crap.

It's ok for a basic card. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I'm in the market for this one:

                Creative Labs

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

It doesnt sound like crap, Monster. I have teh subwoofer and high-end drivers. I just wanted something basic but better than onboard bunk. It also may speed up my computer a bit as it's more efficant sound processing, IMO.

That's what they're called. The box that came with the speakers mentioned a subwoofer and "drivers". Thats what the treble aka "high-end" speakers are called, drivers. They have a few names. Feel free to slap me if i'm wrong.
edit: just for reassurance, the drivers are hardware. My speakers did'nt come with any software to install.

Lol, drivers are the software you install on your computer that lets your computer accept the new hardware. Hahaha, from what I read, you're under the impression that they're speakers?

I know drivers are software that you install along with hardware. But whoever printed on the box my speakers came in reffered to the "high-end" aka "treble" speakers as "drivers". Chineese to English can be confusing.

I've had another speaker set in the past that refered to the treble speakers as high-ends. This one calles them drivers. Chineese to English can be confusing. From now on, I'll disregard the terms "high-end" and "drivers". I'll just refer to them as "trebles".
