Internet Gambling To Be Put Out of Business in USA

    http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/1....nt5b8tr6.html

I read this today and it took about 10 minutes to sort out what I thought about this.

Those internet gambling companies seek to only exploit people and back before image verification was on, 90% of the 115 spammers that Sole and I banned/deleted were for internet gambling.

Someone will argue about freedom or what not, but I doubt many (any?) of those internet gambling companies are fully honest and it is already illegal.

My only complaint about this is that I'd like to see other "exploitive" gambling put out of business ... aka those $1/$5/$10/$20 scratch off tickets that poor people are always buying sold by state governments.

I'm not against gambling --- just gambling that isn't regulated [like it is in Nevada] because you can't just trust these companies to be honest without it -- it isn't going to happen.

Well I know the state, (Louisiana), regulates all the gambling here using the State Police Gaming Division as a liaison.

I was in the industry as a tech for 9 years. I've seen first hand what it can do. Because of that I do not gamble today. That and the fact that the State of Louisiana just put the Video Poker and scratch off's in without even a vote. It was so said that the revenues would go to the education system. *cough*

For a location such as any type of bar or resturant, it would be limited to three machines. The state would get 26% of the top. In the case of truckstops, fifty machines were allowed max and 36.5% off the top to the state. That was almost 6 years ago. I'm sure it's changed and they get even more now.

I'm sure every stinking politician has their pockets full of money.

As far as internet gambling, I couldn't tell you a thing.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

Gambling run by state governments isn't even up to par with the laws that states like Nevada impose on casinos. I think it's pretty disgusting, actually.

Who shall watch the watchers? Hehe

It's hard to get into a political debate in a forum. I never saw the point of onine Poker games for money. Chips maybe but not real cash. But there are alot of things more important to go after then this. It's amazing where they set their priorities. Lotto will never go to the school fund because of the "cap" they put on it. It goes to the general fund so they can get those nice raises that we didn't vote for.

Nevada doesn't check to see if your poor before you gamble. There is no difference between the poor in Nevada and the Scratch off's offered all over. Either way.. It's money tossed. And somehow. I don't think I would trust the government anymore then a company offering. Either way... It's a stupid idea.

People dumb enough to gamble excessively deserve to lose their livelihood.

Drinking,Drugs,Gambling, Prostitution, do we really need big brother if they want to shoot themselves in the foot? The government will ban what they can't fully control. Please note. Alchohol is legal. 100% proof is legal. Expensive but so is a Lid which is illegal. Because they can't control a weed. lol Gambling because they can't control the "home" businesses. Prostitution.. well I don't need to go there But they can't control that either now can they.. Try as they may. Which means no coins in their pockets so it's illegal Let them shoot themselves in the foot.. they can pour their money into booze just as well as they can anything else. They should ban credit cards if they are worried about people being able to spend cash that fast.

and if your not careful.. everyone will have your ss number.. Such a private number that we have to list it on our checks when we make individual payments and send it through the US post office. The same office that finds years of mail at someones house. Hello?
