  • Mirc vs Opera

Yellow mentioned downloading Mirc to connect to gamesurge.net then to the Quakeone IRC channel. Personally after Fuzznut showed me Opera's ability to do this I prefer the use of Opera. I can still browse freely when using Opera and found it an easier task to jump from room to room. Ok.. I confess not knowing my way around I landed in some pretty bizzare rooms and did a fast exit out!

Just thought I would bring it up and you can find Opera here.

    and again Mirc here.

Both great for planning a game.

I tried gaim.. seemed a bit bloated. Older pc's don't like it to well. Would lock up on my 98 but on the xp was ok.

gaim is nifty, but its redraw is terrible on my machine. LordHavoc chocked this up to differences of method in Windows and Linux.

Ive been using mIRC for 10 years, no complaints, it is pretty much always running on my machine, in fact its one of the very first programs I launch.
