  • This game will rock your socks off!!

Hey whats up my fellow Quakers, I am very excited about this game so I figured I could share it with you guys.

The upcoming FPS called STALKER, is going to be a Quake killer, say goodbye to dungeons and corridor crawlers and hello to an open ended world, think Oblivion with guns, only u dont have the RPG stats to deal with. (not sayin Oblivion is bad, but its a shooter not an rpg).

Finally a game by an European developer, finally someone understands that we (at least me) for one, we are sick of dungeons and closed spaces. We have a fully explorable detailed city and country side, non linear gameplay (not like HL2), full weather effects, rain, snow, wind, sun, night/day cycle, etc, and the game is happening totally outside.

You can check it out for yourself, and peep the amazing screenshots too here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/st...eviews;title;8

Get this game when its coming out in March, maybe u guys hop online and we can all play it together!!

Another 2 FPS games that I thought are worthy to mention are BioShock and Crysis.

BioShock comes from the makers of System Shock, it should be a great game too, but it's not really gonna be outdoors that much (what I like).

Crysis is a jungle based shooter from the makers for FarCry, although its gonna be a good game, I'm not too excited about it cuz its probably just gonna be FarCry with enhanced graphics. Not saying that its bad, but oh well.

But, I will be pickin up both these games as well.

So check out STALKER and tell if you are going to get it or not!! Yo thats a hot game, for real, no joke, oh yea and u get to drive vehicles as well! how cool is that. Well cya in a jiffy!
    Peace.

Sounds like a game my 512 MB RAM won't be able to handle.

Forget about a Quake killer I'm with Sole, this is a PC killer! I have 1.5GB system memory but I'm only runnin a 2800+ ATI Radeon 9800 128MB video

I'll try it out but for the past 4 years I've been runnin all the newer games on medium, low detail settings :/

I am a little leery about stalkers gameplay. I like the concept and have read the pcgamer, games for windows zine stuff on it. But lately it seems most of the shooters that have been comming out can't hold it down. The last fps to capivate my attention was fear; until i got stuck in the single-player missions. It could have been a combo too cause i also didn't have acess to the internet at that time(and later i though fear multiplayer was just horrid). I'll just wait and see what reviewers say when it comes out.

With direct x 10 on the verge of becomming and top of the line graphics cards that tell you that you must upgrade power supply before you can use there cards. --Which leads to Crysis. I never got into far cry but from what i understand Crysis is gonna be like cream of the crop. You like to 'pimp your rig' out? Well good, your gonna need it and then some

                            Minimum Requirements

                            CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
                            Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
                            RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
                            HDD: 6GB
                            Internet: 256k+
                            Optical Drive: DVD
                            Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

                            Recommended Requirements

                            CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
                            Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
                            RAM: 1.5Gb
                            HDD: 6GB
                            Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
                            Optical Drive: DVD
                            Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

Ram is the first thing i upgraded on my computer within the first weeks of having it. Its fairly cheap for the amount your notice the benifits of having it. Even still i think i payed around 100.00 cnd for one 512 stick maxxing out at 2gb.
