Any chance of us talking you into posting aforementioned links?

I should edit the first post with links to all free AV and Antispyware programs.

All best free software can be safely found on download.com. Just search for antivirus. Here are the links for the current versions:

        AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

        Avast Home Edition

These both come with no limitations

No the SPYWARE version of AVG she is talking about. Not the regular AV.

Solecord is right, those were the 2 applications I was referring to. I did not know that http://free.grisoft.com/ even existed, much less where you got it from? lol.

But it is true, on their regular site www.grisoft.com, you have to dig for the 2 free aforementioned versions.

                Just below the Anti-virus is:

                Download other free products
                AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition

As for knowing about their site http://free.grisoft.com/, just type AVG into google. It's the first result

please take my word and just get most of your free software from download.com

it's worth wading through the barrage of ads. everything is tested and reliably spyware and virus-free. i know these things because for the past 6 years or so it has been my principle never to pay for software, and also i'm a security nut
