I've owned, or came into posession of consoles origionally owned by my parents. I've had:
3DO (cool, but is broken now)
PS1 (also cool, but doesn't work right)
N64 (which I didn't take much interest in)
PS2 (currently in use)

Also had a SEGA, but don't remember much about it... my parents sold it when I was young.

It's basically a fighting game where you have all your favourite video game franchises beating the crap out of each other. First was on the N64, the tournament popular Super Smash Bros Melee was on the GameCube, and the newest one will be on the Wii. It's not like most fighting games which is why it's so great.

Then it will become a birthday present. Look at your question and think for a second. Would you buy a Wii just for the sake of buying a Wii or would you buy the Wii for a promising game that looks awesome?

I will NEVER buy anything else to play games than a computer. Yeah, smart people do that.
