I don't know what the best movie ever is, but that sure as hell ain't it :d :d

I could argue that the first Matrix, Terminator 2, Shawshank Redemption, The Empire Strikes back or the middle Lord of the Rings movie -- or maybe even the real Planet of the Apes movie or Army of Darkness -- was the best ever.

I have a shirt that says "THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK" and shows Ash holding it up. It's astounding.

I don't watch movies very often. Most of them suck.

Starship Troopers is one kick ass movie. I thought it looked like another special effects movie at the time, and when I started watching it with a bud of mine, both of us were shocked at how great it.

If you realize that the commericals in the movie are sick and disturbing propaganda that indicate what a desperate situation they are in, it really tells the story.

If you DON'T notice that in the movie, you will think the movie is cheesy and stupid. You have to realize the extent and depth of the lying.

The story is that they are getting their butts kicked, but don't want everyone demoralized so they are trying to put a positive and patriotic spin on everything.

I thought it was cool because the movie was so inhumane.

The director was the guy who directed Robocop (awesome), Total Recall (awesome) and Hollow Man (I didn't like.)

For me, Hollow Man was too politically correct or something. If a movie doesn't "suspend my disbelief", I usually don't like 'em.

That director hasn't made enough movies in my opinion, I think the next one he is doing is some historical movie or something and usually I'm not interested in non-fiction-ish movies.

(I liked Unbreakable the first time I saw it, I watched it again a month ago and was bored to tears. Hard to explain. Maybe the only thrill is when the mystery unfolds and if you already know then the pace of the movie is annoying ... dunno)

I wasn't a big movie watcher growing up. In highschool I thought good movies were the Austin Powers movies and never really cared for any serious movies. More recently I've been getting into watching some "older" (by older I mean 80's and 90's movies that I've missed) movies. I've realized I've missed a lot of good ones. Just to name a couple I've recently seen that are excellent movies:

                - Reservoir Dogs
                - Blood Simple. (Coen brothers)
                - Barton Fink (Coen brothers)
                - The Usual Suspects

And then there's good movies I've really liked since I've seen them:

                - Pulp Fiction
                - Mystic River
                - Se7en
                - The Shawshank Redemption
                - The Game

                ... the list goes on.

Starship Troopers was so funny because it was supposed to be bad

-- edit: it seems I have Sole's taste in movies.

I watched this movie today because of you.

Actually I would say this was my favorite until I watched Starship Troopers.
