  • Anyone gamble online? (US Players)

Does anyone gamble online from the US? I used to play some nickle dime texas hold 'em from time to time but it seems these online poker rooms no longer accept VISA gift/debit cards. Anyone have a workaround for this problem? A detailed explanation would be appreciated... I used gift/debit cards for obvious reasons. I really don't want to use a personal card... if thats possible... If not... guess I'll just have to give it up... Take my freinds money... in person...

There was some law in 2006 passed by Congress that made it illegal for credit card companies to honor online gambling transactions, effectively shutting down online gambling in the United States.

I played some in '07 (for sure), possibly early '08 with a gift card. hmmm... There is also some use of something called an E-Wallet? I'm ignorant to the fact so I don't really know... Would like to play a good game of poker when the wife's asleep though...

I remember when Visa and I think some other credit card companies stopped processing payments to that cheap russian mp3 site, allofmp3.com. It was a very simple work around--overnight a third party payment system came up, and this system was used to pay many different sites, not just allofmp3.com, so it was viewed as legit.
