    before you go could i download it from my vista computer then burn it to a disk then put it in on my win 98 laptop?

      Of course!

      Just copy the maps from your burnt CD to your "Quake\id1\maps\" folder on your other PC.

        Now i did all that and it works great, the problem is the TCP\IP option is unhighlighted so i cant choose that option , and im geussing i need it. do u have a Diagnosise?
