    Ya ya call me a relic. I got my 1st C64 in 1982, back when i was only 12.
    Ya there was no operating system, no gui. Just you, and this READY. and a cursor, from hense you had to code a basic program to do anything.

    There was a small set of basic command functions that would interface with I/O devices, like LOAD but that was the extent of an Operating System. Didnt matter. It was a computer and it was up to the user to the extent of his entertainment. Commercial games were a quick fix for this. But i did code a few of games for my friends and I to play. COMPUTE! was the coolest mag at the time as it had FREE games source codes in the last 10 pages of the magazine for us to TYPE into our comptures to play!!!!

    I was more of a Lotus 1,2,3 Wang man and Atari. I knew a guy who made atari games, i forgot his name but he made Wackamole for the Atari.

    Not that I hate the C64,I just never owned one, though I've heard it was pretty cool

    Flash back wow, I loved those C64 games.
    I stil have my C64 here with the tape recorder and it still works !!!
    Have like 2000games on all my tape's .
