IMO, a salad is symbolic to "diversity". A hodgepodge of various elements that are designed to be put together to make a single entity. Of course, depending on the ingredients, will make or break the success of the desirability of that salad.

Adding fruit to a salad, isn't really all that absurd. But, if you were to add Oreo Cookies, cat food, and Lego pieces... Your salad turns into...well...trash.

Only time will tell what fell into your bowl... you may discover you like fruit in your salad...
