I uploaded an image [last night], it shows as last image uploaded in Gallery Stats but isn't in the member photos gallery or any other.... What's up?
Am I just being impatient?

Check filesize and probably make sure the image is a jpg.

I imagine you received a "didn't upload because ..." kind of message. I couldn't tell you the maximum filesize but I am thinking it is about 400 KB.

We need an FAQ here :d

edit: After I uploaded it said something like: Your image has been uploaded and will be submitted to an admin to make sure it's not pron

It hasn't been approved yet. Images in the gallery need to be approved by an admin before appearing in the actual gallery.
